Toro Gold operates its business responsibly, with careful consideration for the health and safety of our staff, the communities we operate near, and the environment around us.
We are fully committed to meeting international standards of good practice in the areas of social development, environmental protection, and health, safety and security. These issues are important to our stakeholders, including company directors and employees, host country governments and agencies, investors, and the communities impacted by our activities. Toro’s philosophy is built around a belief that good practice in these areas is a key aspect of good business practice.
The Company aims to comply with the letter and spirit of all relevant government legislation, policy, and plans applicable to the jurisdictions in which we operate, and to implement good practice in all of its projects at all stages of their operation.
Toro applies international environmental and social standards across all phases of projects, from exploration to development and operation through to closure. Our approach is consistent with Good International Industry Practice (GIIP) and draws upon the following relevant standards and guidelines:
Our sustainable mining practices are governed by our Sustainability Performance Framework (SPF).
The SPF includes a series of business principles and commitments which are supported by performance standards in areas of social development, environmental protection, health, safety and security. The SPF provides clarity over accountability for implementation throughout the organisation and at different stages of asset development. These sustainable mining practices receive full support from the Board of Directors down to our executive team, and are actively disseminated to employees through training and professional development.
